Mr. Ping's Secret Ingredient Soup versus the Honeycakes of Beorn. Can't Post

Which dish wins the Blue Ribbon.at the Hobbiton Faire?

“That hobbit has a pleasant face,
His private life is a disgrace.
I really could not tell to you,
The awful things that hobbits do.”

"Not the bees!!!" [In reply to] Can't Post

That really doesn't look like that would travel well.

Of course neither would the soup.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Sometime hours and hours hence:
In The Green Dragon two ales could buy
And drank the one less filling I
And that has made all the difference.

those honey cakes wouldn't last two shakes of a bee's tail with hungry hobbits around. But I suppose the soup, now...well, the secret ingredient, I understand, is actually freeze drying - and so the freeze-dried chicken noodle backpackers soup was invented. Much tastier than cram.Tongue
