i'll have to [In reply to] Can't Post

rewatch and keep an eye out for the bit. i don't remember seeing it.

cheers --

aka. fili orc-enshield
the scene, as i understand it, is exceptionally well-written. fili (in sort of a callback to the scene with the eagles), calls out "thorRIIIIIIN!!!" just as he sees the pale orc veer in for the kill. he picks up the severed arm of an orc which is lying on the ground, swings it up in desperation, effectively blocking the pale orc's blow. and thus, forever after, fili is known as "fili orc-enshield."

this earns him deep respect from his hard-to-please uncle. as well as a hug. kili wipes his boots on the pale orc's glory box. -- maciliel telpemairo

maybe [In reply to] Can't Post

My aunt works for the TSA (for those of you non-Americans, that is code for airport security). Viggo Mortensen lives about an hours drive north of me, and he uses the airport my aunt works at.

She actually met him once, and contrary to what was said about him, she said he was actually a jerk Crazy

So, maybe he either hates flying, or hates security (because come on, who actually likes airport security workers?), or maybe it was an early morning flight and he isn't a morning person, but either way she said he was not a very nice person at all.

It might be that people like him are really nice amongst those who they deem as "equals" which would include those who work in elevated levels on film crews/cast, but not nice to ordinary folks. But I also heard he is a very private person, which would also explain hatred of Airport security (those people, no offense to my aunt, don't know the meaning of privacy, but hey it's their job).

Maybe he is an exception to the rule? That he likes animals but doesn't like people? They do exist, and in fact given his rural city living (Sandpoint, ID is a pretty small town, and since my husband used to work there, he said it literally shuts down, stores close etc at 6 pm every night), that may very well be the case.

I would think that the real measure of an actor's character is to meet them in ordinary situations (like mentioned above), not public ones (like CON's and such or with any sort of risk of camera around or publicity or fan service), and then you see what they are really like.

In fact, one of his coworkers used to work at the Wal-mart in Ponderay, and actually met him as he was shopping there. Unfortunately, his reaction to her could be explained by the fact that she went completely fan-girl on him ("do you know who you ARE????!!!")

My response to that question would have been, "Yeah, pretty sure I do...." Tongue

Race is meaningless. We all bleed red-no matter who or what we are. What matters is the heart. For each race has those with good hearts and those with bad hearts. You have a good heart. You do not deserve to die.
