Probably one of the stranger questions asked here... Can't Post

This is probably one of the stranger questions that have been asked here, but does anyone here remember The Return of the King Photo Guide from way back when the movies were coming out? I was going through some old stuff and found one for The Two Towers and wasn't pleasantly surprised by how much it seemed to resemble the original script of The Two Towers before pickups and stuff were going on in 2002, which is something that's always interested me.

So if anyone around here has/had the Photo Guide for the Return of the King and felt like sharing, what all was different from that book to the finished film (i.e. scenes in a different order, as of yet unheard lines of dialogue, extended edition scenes, etc.)?

Digging through the bookshelf (and the memory banks) [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a copy in front of me. It seems so long ago that I got this book, so I am struggling to remember exactly when it came out. I think maybe it was just before ROTK was released (?) It finishes with this: "Suddenly Gollum appears and tries to claim the Ring for himself. But he is too late!" So it doesn't give away the ending for those non-book readers.
What I remember most about the book is the stills in it that did not appear in the movie, and I think they are basically all shots that later turned up in the EE's. I remember thinking, 'so that's where it got to' when I saw some of the EE scenes. Looking through the book, examples would be: Frodo and Sam at the crossroads looking at the defaced statue; flashbacks of Faramir and Boromir; Merry offering his service to Theoden; a shot of Frodo and Sam sitting and talking in their orc armour; Aragorn and Faramir in the Houses of Healing ('Aragorn helping the elderly nurse Ioreth').
There is also a shot of Legolas, Gandalf and Aragorn standing outside at Edoras, which I remember being widely used as a publicity still well before the movie. I'm not sure that shot ever actually made it into the TE or EE.
I might be wrong about some of this after 10 years of course, and I haven't watched the TE's nearly as much as the EE's, so sometimes I get things a bit mixed up. I do remember looking through that book after I saw ROTK the first time and picking out all the shots I definitely didn't see in the film.
