Wow... [In reply to] Can't Post

just exactly this! Although an elf of Lothlorien or Rivendell would be ideal, my personality is that of a hobbit Tongue

(Fourth age to be sure)

I simply walked into Mordor.

I often feel lilke Merry [In reply to] Can't Post

"It is best to love first what you are fitted to love, I suppose; you must start somewhere and you have some roots, and the soil of the Shire is deep. Still there are things deeper and higher; and not a gaffer could tend his garden in what he calls peace but for them, whether he knows about them or not. I am glad that I know about them, a little.

"That is one thing that Men call 'hope.' Amdir we call it, 'looking up.' But there is another which is founded deeper. Estel we call it, that is 'trust.' It is not defeated by the ways of the world, for it does not come from experience, but from our nature and First Being. If we are indeed the Eruhin, the Children of the One, then He will not suffer Himself to be deprived of His own, not by any enemy, not even by ourselves. This is the last foundation of estel, which we keep even when we contemplate the End. Of all His designs the issue must be for His children's joy."

Can we be one of each? [In reply to] Can't Post

Cool
I don't know which I would want to be. My favorite toons in Lord of the Rings Online are dwarves.

Sorry... [In reply to] Can't Post

Sorry I've been at the seaside for a week. I would definetly be a hobbit and live in the shire. I would go travelling but the shire would always be home.
also, can someone explain about the talking purse?

If more people valued food, cheer and song above hoarded gold, the world would indeed be a merrier place-Thorin Oakenshield, The Hobbit

Seaside for a Hobbit - bold, brave choice Jay! [In reply to] Can't Post

Ah, the Talking Purse...our dear friends Daniel and Malickfan have a long and particularly well established fondness for the Purse. We get a sense of the history of Middle earth philology in his squeaky, eloquent and evocative, 'Ere, 'oo are you?" At times some speculate on other adventures that the Purse may have had, like journeying to see Cirdan (Malickfan's dearest dream) and perhaps taking part in the War of the North, or maybe in the Scouring of the Shire or fleeing Wights on the Barrow-Downs..

Its best just to roll with it, Jay. SmileWinkSly And by all means join in.Wink

Coming soon!- The first TORn Amateur Symposium, starts Sunday 21st July in the Reading Room. Closing date for essay submission Sunday 14th July, but even if you don't submit, join us for some interesting discussion on some different and personal ways of looking at Tolkien's work.
