I've been following [In reply to] Can't Post

Bluray.com long enough to know how it works. I don't care where they get their info...it is not always accurate or what it eventually will be right at first. It says 169 min because no one at Bluray.com knows what the extended length will be...but we all know it will not be 169 minutes.
Same with the number of discs....no one really knows yet.

In Europe (Germany, Eastern Europe, Russia) Warner Bros. as distributor for New Line didn't manage to completely subtitle both of the November SEE releases. On both FOTR SEE and TTT SEE appr. half of the bonus features remained without subtitle translation. Only ROTK SEE which came out December, had full translation of the bonus materials.

Meaning: bonus materials require their time.

"You are a very fine person, Mr. Baggins, and I am very fond of you; but you are only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all!" - Gandalf

Darth Bungo: "Gandalf the Gray never told you what happened to your father."
Bilbo Barrel-rider: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him."
Darth Bungo: "No, I am your father."

I think I will mention this to my wife [In reply to] Can't Post

My birthday is a week after. My only debate is whether to be subtle about it so she thinks she chose the present for me. (I will act surprised.)

I think AUJ will be dark red [In reply to] Can't Post

Like we've seen in the merchandising (the extended soundtrack color, for instance). And since blue seems to be a prominent color in DOS, I'd like it's case to be blue. If that happens then TABA might as well be green to complete the sort of "pattern". This way the whole series would be (from LOTR to TH) green, red, blue, red, blue, green. Tongue This would also reflect how I feel about the films or how I expect I will feel in the end. I expect to like DOS as much as ROTK, TABA as much as FOTR, and my two least favorites are as of now TTT and AUJ. It would also be nice having the first and the last films as the green ones, just as the films begin and end in the Shire. Smile I know it probably won't happen but it is what I would like to see.

Though I could live with different colors. Wink Maybe even the hideous Blu Ray line in there somewhere, since these will be BluRay.

I certainly hope the EEs will be released as just plain dvds as well. Is this out of the picture? I still don't have a blu-ray player yet and I hate the case designs.

I think that having both versions in the set would be cool [In reply to] Can't Post

The only thing I find laking in the EE of LOTR, not having both cuts there.

AUJ EE Blu-ray Notes [In reply to] Can't Post

I wrote to Bill Hunt of The DigitalBits.com five days ago about this order page on blu-ray.com when I saw it posted here.

In his blog yesterday, Mr. Hunt goes into a bit more detail about the release, but nothing much different than these forums have known for a while. And nothing about disks or specific content. He does link to a thread about "possible new scenes that you’ll find in the longer version including those being discussed here at TheOneRing.net:

Here's the TheDigitalBits.com article:
