Radagast won't die in Dol Guldor Can't Post

He won't die because he is in the book of the fellowship of the ring remember? Saruman tells him to get Gandalf to come and see him so Sarumna can try and get Gandalf to join him. Gandalf meets him after leaving the shire but Pj made it in the movies that he chose to go but in the book Radagast passes on the message that Saruman wants to speak with him.

If more people valued food, cheer and song above hoarded gold, the world would indeed be a merrier place-Thorin Oakenshield, The Hobbit

Well [In reply to] Can't Post

Since he's not in the LotR movies, PJ can change it, kill him off.

A good observation! [In reply to] Can't Post

But PJ killed Haldir off. Even though the book never mentions his fate, I somehow don't think this will stop PJ.
Then again, if you look at the scene atop Orthanc, Gandalf whispers "Gwaihir" to the moth. Could PJ have an explanation for someone different sending the eagle? I'm sure the book mentioned that Gwaihir was sent by Raddy (inadvertently).

Wasn't it in the Unfinished Tales where Radagast and Gandalf meet? I think Radagast had dialogue there.

"Eala Earendel engla beorhtast
ofer middangeard monnum sended."

"Who put the tribbles in the quadrotriticale!?"

I hope he doesn't die. [In reply to] Can't Post

It would seem rather odd to me if he did, since he is a distinct though not often seen figure of the books.

I'm pretty sure he will... he is not in (PJ's) LOTR [In reply to] Can't Post

Anything could happen, as long as it is consistent with the movies.
The books are not be considered.

[title edited, I can't read, lol] [In reply to] Can't Post

Radagast's absence in movie LotR IMO doesn't create a plot hole or even raise a question. Going to see Saruman could be Gandalf's own idea. It's possible PJ kills Radagast off in The Hobbit.
I don't want for him to die... though I'm desperately hoping for a stray spell at Dol Guldur to remove the bird droppings from his face. Tongue

"A journalist once asked me what I would like my epitaph to be and I said I think I would like it to be 'He did very little harm'. And that's not easy. Most people seem to me to do a great deal of harm. If I could be remembered as having done very little, that would suit me." ~ Paul Eddington

Radagast leaving Dol Guldur [In reply to] Can't Post

In the trailer when Gandalf answers that it is undoubtedly a trap, we see Radagast leaving in the background.... I don't see why he would die in Dol Guldur if he leaves it before Gandalf enters, just speculating.

Why do the white gulls call?
