The answer to the Glorfindel question in Q&A on the main page Can't Post

The querist wants to know what Glorfindel did after the events at Ford of Bruinen, and the person providing the answer states that Glorfindel and all other Elf lords remained passive during the War of the Ring. "... any “noble Elven lords” did not do anything *active* in the War after the Fellowship left Rivendell or Lorien. Elrond, Celeborn, noble Elven ladies like Galadriel, Arwen . . . their roles were peripheral."

Isn't this wrong, considering that Lorien were attacked three times, during this very war and repelled the attackers each time? Celeborn then led an Elven host across the Anduin and attacked the fortress of Dol Guldur, whose walls Galadriel tore down. On top of that, Thranduil and his Silvan Elves cleansed Mirkwood along with the Wood Men during the Battle under the Trees. Maybe it's time to update this answer with the correct info?

Now now Bill, you swore this was a battle between warriors, not a bunch of miss nancies, so warriors is what I brought

The Lords of Rivendell and the Grey Havens may have been relatively passive... [In reply to] Can't Post

The Elves of Rivendell and the Havens needed to stand guard to see if their own regions were going to be attacked. The exceptions were the sons of Elrond, who accompanied the Grey Company.

That's correct [In reply to] Can't Post

Isn't it? I was under the impression that they were attacked and had to protect their borders. They need to update.

Not many Elves left in ME [In reply to] Can't Post

The bulk of the Elves went west, so its on reasonable to deduce that they were stretched thin on the homefront defense and stayed back to defend their homes.
