It's never "final". [In reply to] Can't Post

Any future re-releases, special showings, etc., will always count. The FotR and TTT EEs shown in theatres before RotK opened added nicely to their respective totals!

Another number... [In reply to] Can't Post

... has changed as well, though I do not want to open a new thread for it: RT score has climbed up to 66 (was on 65 for quite a while).

I guess some RT critics put up their reviews during the DVD/Blu Ray release.

What pleases me, though, is that the % of people who liked it seems to remain stable at 84% on RT at an average rating of 4.1/5 (IMDB is stable at 8.2/10).

Looking at the same numbers on RT for RotK, it is kind of sad some people can develop such a hatred over a movie winning Oscars they found un-deserving to vote it down.

But then again, RT and IMDB are kind of the cradle of bad trolling and the forums certainly a synonym for all the things wrong with the internet ;-)

Yes, and I can't image [In reply to] Can't Post

there won't be a marathon when the 3rd movie comes out.

I know it's unworthy of me, but I just want it to overtake Pirates 4. I just found that movie so awful--another part of a franchise that just went downhill after the first one, and the box office just continued to rise based on how good the first one was. I think The Hobbit is too far behind, though. I don't think a couple more releases will help it substantially.
