I must say [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't remember Thandruil as being particularly 'wise and kind'. In fact, my overall impression of the Wood Elves (I haven't read the book for a long while) is that they are rather silly beings unlike the Rivendell Elves, for example.

Unlike the Rivendell Elves... [In reply to] Can't Post

...who sang Tra-la-la-lally, and told "Father" Thorin to mind he didn't dip his beard in the foam? Wink

Oh well [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't remember the details of either The Hobbit or LOTR, and I don't intend to reread either before the next films, but the Wood Elves in The Hobbit book seemed distinctly sillier and much less likeable than the Rivendell Elves in LOTR. (I don't actually remember the Rivendell Elves in The Hobbit at all.)

From memory, overall the Rivendell Elves seemed far more awe inspiring in LOTR (books) and I don't recall Glorfindel singing any silly songs, or Elrond or Galadriel for that matter. Tongue
