This is what seems to have happened, and Bolg's original design turned into 'Yazneg' [In reply to] Can't Post

All I care about is that this guy in these images (hopefully staying as Bolg's final design) features prominently as it's the best orc look EVER.

have u seen a pic of him? [In reply to] Can't Post

He is something out of a R-rated Rob Zombie film!!! but personally that is a great thing, he wears ripped off beards from dead dwarfs on his face which are all blood stained!!! Yes, not sure how the children are going to be able to handle him.

I kept hearing... [In reply to] Can't Post

that the weak-ass orc that was chasing Radagast, was originally supposed to be Azog. I think his name was Yazneg (too lazy to confirm). Anyway, he was a little imp of an orc, but at least he was a real guy in prosthetics. I am absolutely NOT a fan of the decision to go cgi with half of the orcs in AUJ. It's like they took a crap on the visual aesthetic they established in the LOTR films.

Bolg...now THAT looks like an orc-captain. Also, Bolg automatically gets extra points for being in the book Wink

Bolg looks totally awesome! [In reply to] Can't Post

By far the nastiest, meanest, scariest, and horrifyingly demented major bad dude in all the films, IMO!! Now THAT is what I call an Orc!

Wow... [In reply to] Can't Post

He is terrifying indeed. And it's the first time I've noticed what look like amputated bear paws/claws on each of his shoulders. Looks like Beron vs Bolg would make for an incredible confrontation. Unless Bolg is only limited to Dol Guldur and is dealt with there by the White Council.

Kullervo, An Orc Life...or Being Azog sound like interesting titles.

Yuck....

But Bolg, yes i really dont like his design, really bad. Like Imin, pointed ou he looks like beastman, or some cross bread between a man and a lion in some B rated comic book.

You know, I wonder why we got to see Bolg being cut down at Azanulbizar... [In reply to] Can't Post

Bad enough that Azog had to come back from the dead, but Bolg as well?

Since Conan Stevens (Bolg) was originally cast as Azog, could the screenshot of Bolg actually be the original version of Azog being killed at Azanulbizar...by none other than Dain? I know it's now supposed to be a young Dwalin, but we know Billy Connolly said Dain will have a Mohican. Rather a coincidence!

Okay, maybe I'm reading to much into it all but until, if ever, we get the whole story in the EE commentaries, it is not beyond the realms of possibility...

though of course hoping Bolg didn't kick the bucket already. I wasn't sure how many other people noticed he was in that sequence.

The Azog/Bolg-who-played-who complex was a very late change to the film [In reply to] Can't Post

Most of Azog's new scenes were filmed very late on in 2012. Plus, there's all the artwork of young Dwalin (along with young Balin and Thorin) in the WETA chronicles book.

While Azog underwent a later alteration, I really can't see Dwalin replacing Dain at Azanulbizar being a later change as well. If the artwork wasn't already there, then I would probably agree!

Smile

(But you might also be right. We know that Azanulbizar went from a brief mention to a full on flashback!)

No, I agree that it is Dwalin, judging by the pictures.... [In reply to] Can't Post

Besides, we've seen that Weta Digital video clip of Rawls' Yazneg design, being overlaid by the final mo-capped Bennett version of Azog...

Guess it's only wishful thinking on my part! It just seems strange that we should see Bolg in the sequence so anonymously.

Yes, great titles! [In reply to] Can't Post

I can already picture the title screen (with Seinfeldesque bass playing), after which we see Azog coming home after a hard day of defiling, only to find his son Bolg on the couch making out with an elf. Really his just trying to torture and murder the girl, but Azog gets mad and, you know, hilarity and misconseptions ensue!

And... Orc porn... Well, you know, rule 34.Frown And I bet you there's even people who would love nothing more than that.

Azog looks like a championship wrestler, so I am afraid I could see it happening. There is probably already an Azog + Thranduil and an Azog + Tauriel animation out there somewhere. Yies.
