I was clarifying for my own purposes really because I did not want to leave the impression I have a problem with RA's performance, it was just the feeling that sometimes the approach to Thorin was a bit more structured and less natural than other characters. Some of that arises because of telling his story in flashback of course so it may well have been unavoidable.
