The Warehouse NZ offer The Hobbit DVD and Blu-ray with code for special TDOS preview! Can't Post

I received a contact phone number after placing my order, so I'll double check with them tomorrow that the code is, indeed, sent to the purchaser before 8 a.m. NZST Monday March 25 for either the regular DVD or the Blu-ray.

This is for the first 500 customers who pre-order before Friday noon, so get on it, Kiwi Tornfolk! Unfortunately, they don't sell internationally.

2.7 Does The Warehouse ship internationally?

We do not ship internationally at present. We only ship to addresses within New Zealand.

Is this whole bizarre rigamarole a crazy way to sell a movie on-line or what? Tongue

Amazon UK still has the better deal [In reply to] Can't Post

The Warehouse release date is 1 May. Price for 3D blu-ray is $42.39. There is no mention of whether the 2D blu-ray is also included.

Amazon UK price for 3D blu-ray (which comes with 2D blu-ray and ultraviolet code) is £20.25 which is currently $37.32 NZD. I placed my order with Amazon UK yesterday and their estimated delivery date is "17 April 2013 - 22 April 2013".

So, it's cheaper and faster to order from Amazon UK, and you're guaranteed to get the 2D blu-ray (and the ultraviolet code) as well.

It looks like it's just the Blu-ray, not the DVD? / [In reply to] Can't Post

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauronís master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

The code will be included with both the DVD or the Blu-ray purchase. [In reply to] Can't Post

I called the Warehouse just now to confirm it.
'Course, to be really really sure, we should buy both. Wink I don't have blu-ray, but I do want those production videos on disc. Hmmmm...

Anyway, the operator now knows there is at least one hard-core Hobbit geek in New Zealand checking up on them.
