Thanks to your post I may get another viewing at a theater I didn't even know about! I'm sorry there are no showings closer to you.

Wish I'd had better news reading it (nothing in my area, as I thought). But just wanted to say thanks anyway!

suggestion: watch for one of my favorite lines during the unexpected party: bilbo grabs a plate of tomatoes from ori, grumbling, "not my prize-winners, thank you!" i +love+ the line, his delivery, and his facial expressions. poor, beleaguered hobbit! enjoy! .

..sorry it didn't provide a likely locale. we should think about something to tide over the hobbit-bereft with, between now and the release of the dvd. .

it's been frustrating trying to find complete listings by state. past, say, 30 minutes or so, the movie locators just sort of... give up. if anyone has additional theaters, please feel (very) free to add. many thanks. .

I just returned from a showing in Bensenville, IL, which was a second-run theater. Thanks so much for the link! Very helpful.

Plan to see it one last time (although I said that three or four "last times" ago). Then I will hole up in my house with it playing on a continual loop.

many smaller towns have limited theater screens and the hit movies hit the "secondary" theaters later as they cycle through the movies available. Then, you have the multiplex cinemas that may have the extra capacity to keep the film until the screen is needed for new releases.

that is very poignant wording, Kimtc. Sad that it seems to be upwards of three or four hours from me

AUJ is playing in a second run theater in my area. This is a wonderful theater. Big. Old. $1.50 to get in and real butter on the popcorn.

There are two theaters in Utah that are still showing TH in first run that are not on that list. The theater chain is local to Utah and Arizona but has around 100 screens if not more. It doesn't matter that it missed some screens in Utah but only that it may have missed others as well. Just worth mentioning. 8)
