new thread about 'what did you read' Can't Post

Anyone want to provide guidance on how things works since a newbie has posted a reading thread:

Not only does it break our 'tradition' with these sorts of threads being scheduled by leaders, the previous reading thread is still active so it's a double post.

don't fuss yourself [In reply to] Can't Post

It's one of those forum culture things that we regulars fall into but we try not to be too priggish about! :-)

But not posting a new thread on the same topic as an active thread on the first page is more codified and is a forum rule... not convention.

Be sure to post your book comments in Lily's active book thread (that second link I provided). It's always a very active thread with lots of conversation.

No problem [In reply to] Can't Post

Look for the reading thread each Tuesday in Off Topic. The wonderful author-in-residence Lily Fairbairn is the poster for that topic.

Looking forward to reading what you've been reading!

Happiness: money matters, but less than we think and not in the way that we think. Family is important and so are friends, while envy is toxic -- and so is excessive thinking. Beaches are optional. Trust is not. Neither is gratitude. - The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner as summarized by Lily Fairbairn. And a bit of the Hobbit reading thrown in never hurts. - NottaSackville
