First (?) Hobbit hole in the UK opens to the public in Stowe Can't Post

An article on the addition of a hobbit hole to West Stowe Anglo-Saxon Village and Country Park.
http://www.eadt.co.uk/...play_in_uk_1_1928882

Under events for February they list "Ring Quest! A family adventure trail" Feb 16-24http://www.weststow.org/index.cfm

The village was used for scenes of the Dunedain camp in "Born of Hope", a fan film about the birth of Aragorn.http://www.bornofhope.com/Locations.html

Has anybody here seen it yet?

There already is a fantastic hobbit home in UK [In reply to] Can't Post

....http://www.simondale.net/

About this village....

I dont know but- Is there anything anglo saxons have in common with hobbits?

The so-called "Hobbit House" looks like a normal house with a round door and a woman with a cheap wig in front of it, sorry.
Looks to me like an addition just for (more-entrance-fee) money.

hobbit holes. [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't know where the very first hobbit hole in the UK was but I do know that there was an underground house near where I used to live in Yorkshire.it was entirely underground and the front door was round and green!and even better it was called 'underhill'. I had the good luck to work there fitting carpets some years ago.I'm sure it must still be there.it was in a small village called Holme near where they used to film 'last of the summer wine'.what a fantastic place to live Smile

Arrow....black arrow,I have saved you to the last.you have never failed me and always I have recovered you.I had you from my father and he from old.if ever you came from the forges of the true king under the mountain,go now and speed well
