Respect [In reply to] Can't Post

You have laid out your complaints about the movie respectfully which is more than I can say for other posts/threads I've come across. So for that I tip my cap and why I made a few posts to people to leave it be. As far as the movies goes I have a few tiny issues but as a whole I loved every second of it. So I can't find myself agreeing with most of your post, but I will give you credit as I said for not telling me I'm "whatever" for loving it or the merchandise I buy from it. Smile

Hi isaac! [In reply to] Can't Post

Good to meet you.

I understand your point about Old Bilbo, but for me i cant have TH films without him. Somehow it fits and glues everything together while also reconnecting the audience with the previous trilogy.

Besides its Ian Holm Smile

And remove the H in hola Wink

Respect is due [In reply to] Can't Post

in converstaions and between posters of course, but if one feels disgusted or disappointed by a work of art, then that person needs to eviscerate it Evil...with words of course.

Nicely done! [In reply to] Can't Post

I very much appreciate your thoughtful thread, and although I don't really have anything negative to contribute, it's a good way for others to share their opinions too. Keep up the good work!

i feel the exact same way [In reply to] Can't Post

and thats a good point about Bilbo, Thorins resentment of him doesnt match up to the entirely pleasant and cooperative Bilbo. As you rightly said, he is never a burden so why does Thorin resent his presence so much? it doesnt add up.

hi isaac I feel the same way [In reply to] Can't Post

I love LOTR, I have watched it many many times and every time its wonderful and moving and beautiful, I too had an open mind about TH. But AUJ feels stale and derivative, and in parts its boring. its so disappointing I have lost most of my enthusiasm.

How about the wargs? [In reply to] Can't Post

Did you think the CGI for the wargs was better in TTT or in AUJ?

all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us...

for me 'derivative' in TH [In reply to] Can't Post

means there are too many references to LOTR. The music being one of those things, they reused a lot of LOTR themes, also the nods here and there to LOTR like Gandalf banging his head on the lamp. Or Gandalf smiting the rock with his staff as he did on the bridge in Moria. some small examples, but there are many others. Thats why it felt rather stale. imho
