German BluRays (theatrical edition)... Can't Post

There are three releases in the pipeline from Germany so far. No release date has been set yet (Amazon states the standard 31.12 date which means it's a placeholder). I expect it to arrive around April, like in other countries.

The standard version (2D) has the "Bilbo & Sting" teaser poster. The green "FSK 12" logo will be most probably printed on the artwork.

Also, there will be an amazon.de exclusive Steelbook version of the 2D version. Interestingly, it has a different motif than all the three of the French steelbooks. The FSK logo will be probably a sticker. Actually, I've never seen this motif used on The Hobbit.

And, there will be also a 3D BluRay version (with the 2D BluRay included) - I'd say, the ultimate package for theatrical version to own. It looks just about the same like the French 3D version, and it looks like there will be a lenticular Gandalf motif familiar from the Empire cover. Also, I think the green FSK logo will be a removable sticker.

Will the EE have a 3D version? [In reply to] Can't Post

That's what i'm asking myself. I hope they don't follow Fox in that regard, which only released the theatrical version of Avatar in 3D.

Don't have a 3DTV yet but will buy one soon-ish (looking for a new TV anyway).

Don't know [In reply to] Can't Post

but seeing as the added scenes in the EE will have been initially shot in 3D as well, it would be silly to only release them in 2D.

My theory was... [In reply to] Can't Post

...that they will also make a 3D version of SEE and include it with the Giftset.

bonus= 10 videoblogs (1h52min) + making of?= 2 hours? [In reply to] Can't Post

there's not much new bonus stuff left!? Unsure
hobbit production vlog 1-10= 1h52min!!!

making of=13 minutes TV special?

so is there nothing new???

According to an ad for the French release of the Blu-ray, the disc will include 2 hours of supplemental material including a “making of” and 10 video blogs.

So far it confirms... [In reply to] Can't Post

...my musings stated here: the theatrical BluRay will not have anything new on it, just the already available bonus material (like the LOTR theatrical DVDs).
