Number of options [In reply to] Can't Post

Perhaps most likely:

Azog kills Fili and Kili
Thorin kills Azog
Bolg kills Thorin
Beorn kills Bolg

Or

Azog kills Fili and Kili
Dain kills Azog
Bolg kills Thorin
Beorn kills Bolg

I suspect Bolg has been given more to do in Dol Guldur as well.

well, I loved a theory I bumped into from someone else on these forums last week I think on another thread: [In reply to] Can't Post

It concerns Bolg + Beorn, and it completely makes Bolg's inclusion well worth it IMO:

Bolg's the leader of Dol Guldur orcs from what we can assume, so.. Beorn and him become nemeses maybe:
Persbrandt said stuff about a torture and something, although it maybe simply a translation-confusion but in any case, perhaps he gets caught and tortured by Bolg, and has a huge quarrel with him, as Bolg's orcs perhaps are ravaging the men west of mirkwood and Beornlings.
Beorn escapes but vows to seek vengeance on Bolg. He therefore turns up in the battle to hunt him down.

^basically something like that.

If this possible torture scene happens after the company has left his halls then maybe Bolg could also slip to him about their quest to reclaim Erebor and that Azog is chasing them, would give more depth and link it to the quest too.

Some more evidence is that Bolg wears cut off bear-paws on him too.

100% Disagree [In reply to] Can't Post

In Reply To
I think the whole part where Gandalf introduces the company one after one to Beorn while fun to read will not be good on film. We will see what PJ will do for this.

I feel like this is the perfect way to basically start the third movie. It gives Pete a chance to reintroduce all the dwarfs to the audience.

Don't be hasty.

Agreed... [In reply to] Can't Post

It twists the story line around, but we're already in a movie-canon, even from LOTR days. Dates and times from Tolkien mean little to nothing in these films.

Both Icons represent me in a way ;-) [In reply to] Can't Post

In Reply To
house. Beorn and Gandalf do most of the heavy lifting, perhaps Beorn fells Azog's warg companion, and then Thorin slays Azog.

Love your icon by the way. Is that a reasonable approximation of your appearance? (the earlier one with the earmuffs. The other one is obvious enough, A Wizard knows Galadriel when he sees her lol)Smile

In Reply To
@AinurOlorin both Icons represent me equally! Tongue Angelic

About what could happen (but should not):

Bo5A:
Azog vs. Thorin,
Thorin dies
Azog killed by Fili/Kili
Fili killed by Orcs
Kili almost killed by Orcs but rescued by Tauriel (love story before)
Romeo & Juliet Death by Kili & Tauriel

3 hours of stone giant play ending with Gandalf's speech about walking into Beorn's at specific intervals. Perfect!
