The Hobbit as a Hero Narrative - sources? Can't Post

Hi all! I'm asking for some help on behalf of my daughter, who is hitting a wall in trying to find any criticism of the movie that deals with the concept of Bilbo as a hero. Searches just turn up news outlet review after news outlet review, and nothing of more depth. She may have to turn to stuff about the book as a fallback in order to have a source to cite in her essay (which, otherwise, she's just fine on -- has plenty of ideas of her own!), but would rather not. I was hoping that someone here might know of some more analytical pieces that include the movie in them and deal with Bilbo as a hero?

I assume you have Googled the topic? [In reply to] Can't Post

Not the movie per se, but some of the book character aspects are the same.

Consider what Gandalf says to Galadriel [In reply to] Can't Post

Why the halfling?

Gandalf discussed that he has found it is the small things, the ordinary goings on of people who hold evil at bay.

Also, the theme of the "reluctant hero" - he did not set out to become one but was thrust into situations where it come out...Trolls, Goblin Town, facing Azog etc. When other lives are in danger etc.
