Then I'm a trollette! [In reply to] Can't Post

If thinking that less of Helm's Deep would be a good thing for TTT qualifies as a characteristic of trolldom, I belong as well --- and I'd be proud of it, too! (Okay, now that might really be trollish thinking on my part!)

As for Dain, after all he is the one who slew Azog, right, so he should be in the Prologue? (And Azog should be dead!)

With regard to Fortinbras, it's *counts on fingers* 34 years since I attended an A-level English class in England where we did 'Hamlet', that's a long way to remember back to, and I'm too lazy to dig my way through the mess in my flat in order to reach the bookcase where my Shakespeare edition resides, so I'll pass on that one...

'Goodness gracious, you really are a messie!' 'Oh no, I'm not, these are all just mathoms...'

It might be [In reply to] Can't Post

If repeated incessantly out of context, couched in abusive language.

I haven't read the thread in question (having avoided the Hobbit movie-board for some time), but I have read several thousands of NEB's posts, and never saw anything remotely like trolling from him. I remember one accidental slip, which he promptly apologized for and asked the Admins to correct.

Just a question: [In reply to] Can't Post

Did Dain appear in the first film?
I didn't notice it - only that he was talked about.

I wouldn't have bothered with this - had Fortinbras not been talked about in the first scene of Hamlet, when Horatio converses with Bernardo and Marcellus.

However, if you're a troll under the bridge - why, then I'm a rat behind the curtain.

"Oh, what a rash and bloody deed is this!" [In reply to] Can't Post

So far as I know, Dain doesn't appear in the film, but like Fortinbras in Shakespeare's play, he's mentioned early.

Hmm... maybe the filmmakers have Armitage mispronounced the name as "Dane" (rather than the correct "Dah-een") in a reference to Hamlet!
