I absolutly love the Wargs from TTT and ROTK, and was pretty down on the new ones when I saw the action figure,
but in the movie they are great! If the Gundabad Wargs are willing to let orcs ride on their backs, it stands to reason
that they are more inteligent than the TTT/ROTK Wargs, who have saddles on them.

Also, Thranduil with the big Elky fella? I reckon he wears a saddle because he enjoys the prestige. His saddle probably
cost a lot of money, and he likes to show off.

I suddenly thought of all the western pleasure show riders with their multi-thousand dollar saddles trimmed in silver... Thrandy's would be mithril, of course...

An odd aside to that. I once met some folks who had reindeer at some Christmas event or other. They actually drove them... but did not use bridles with bits (like horses); they used halters (no bit) as the mouth of a horse has a toothless space (the bars) right at the corner of the mouth (where you see the ring of the bit sitting in a photo)... and a deer does not. Deer don't have the toothless space for a bit.
