I never thought of him as "flat" and without a personality. He only had a short little scene. But in that little bit, I found him fascinating. It made me want to see more of him and find out who he is! I would hardly be interested if he was flat. Wink

He is cold but not flat. In an extreme, cold can be a type of emotion, and in his case it is. He seems equally aloof and unpleasant. I hope more of his better traits come through as the films progress, but he certainly did not seem like cardboard. Ice perhaps.

He's got less personality than Celeborn (who admittedly improved greatly in the EE): flat, cold, and fairly emotionless. I'm hoping we get to see a bit more to him, especially since he should be a key player in the Bo5A.
