We really don't know much about the Dwarven Calendar, do we? [In reply to] Can't Post

Tolkien tells us that the Dwarven New Year is the first day of the last new cresent moon of Autumn. And it is Durin's Day only in years when the Moon and the Sun shone in the sky at the same time. By Karen Wynn Fonstad's figuring in The Atlas of Middle-earth, Durin's day fell on October 30 in the year TA 2941. Is this also the actual first day of Winter by Dwarven reckonling? Or might that fall on the following full moon? Presumably, the beginning of the other seasons was determined by the Dwarves in a simalar fashion.
