Oooh, Runa sounds like a good story! [In reply to] Can't Post

I well remember the Viking runes carved inside Maes Howe Neolithic grave on Orkney. You have to imagine several Vikings taking shelter in the ancient mound and trying to keep their spirits up (and the bad spirits out) by working on some graffiti. Now when I read "Fog on the Barrow Downs" I think of Maes Howe.

It's pretty un-put-down-able. [In reply to] Can't Post

In fact, it's just after midnight and I just finished it. I disagree with the reviewer that the ending is confusing. It made perfect sense to me.

Oh, and it looks like it's not out of print, just not available at amazon. Looks like Barnes and Noble has it.

Good for Barnes and Noble! [In reply to] Can't Post

I heard Barnes and Noble had poor sales over the holiday. I sure hope they can stay open. Amazon is good, but I don't want anyone to have a monopoly.

Addendum: I think you'd really like it, Lily. [In reply to] Can't Post

It's much simpler than your books, being written for children, but it has something of the same flavor. There are Viking burial sites shaped like ships, and stone circles, and a runic inscription in an old church. I think a lot of the setting is based on the author's visits to Sweden, places that really exist.
