I agree that for Thorin to assume that a giant hulking orc would die from a wound like that may be the least believable thing in a movie full of unbelievable things. Wink I mean, Thorin has a dwarf in his company who survives with an axe in his head. Pirate

And I would have loved to see in the prologue how the axehead got there in the first place. It would have been cool if a normal talking Bifur would have been with Thorin and Balin on the battlements in Erebor.
