Of course last year's anniversary was just lovely, since we were in Auckland and hanging out with a certainly lovely Kiwi couple. 
As for The Hobbit---we've now seen it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a lot of deja vu moments, which I noticed but which didn't detract, but oh my, I knew I'd love all the dwarves being (at long last) different characters instead one one amorphous blob. And I did. Armitage! Woo hoo! 
Next we're going to try the 3D HFR version...
