What better way to end the year for fans of Tolkien’s books and the Lord of the Rings movies alike than with the extraordinary news that The Hobbit movie is going to happen!! Who will direct? Who will be cast as Gandalf, Thorin and, of course, as Bilbo? And just what will that second movie include? 2008 will be filled with speculation, spy reports and exciting new developments surrounding these and many other topics, so stay tuned to TORn for all the latest. Today we eagerly await as we are in the final days leading to the release of the first of three movies based on "The Hobbit".

That's so crazy! I remember reading it and being so psyched about it. Little did I know we'd wait longer for the films than we waited for that announcement.

Time passes quickly in hindsight yet drags at times in the present!

The amount of anxiety and stress contained in the last 9 years...since the end of the LOTR...and the "will the Hobbit be made" was palpable and then it was burst with the new that Yes, The Hobbit would be made. And then a different cycle of anxiety and stress over all issues related this film and now the same for the actual film. Try to enjoy it all!

It'll be weird in 20 years to look back on this time, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's been a great ride, and I'm glad we still have a year and a half to go before it's all over (or two years, as I'm hoping).
