I checked TORn for the final time before bedtime last night at 11:40pm my time (Central Standard). This morning I saw a lot of new threads in the Hobbit board and decided not to go there so the 'new' labels would be preserved for when I could actually take time to check stuff out. Now, 20 hours later (than my last visit to the Hobbit board), there are 34 new threads and 528 new posts. Yikes! What are you folks talking about in there! lol. For kicks, I think I'll let it sit for the next four hours to do a right proper 24 hour count. Daniel, I'm glad you and Xanaseb are doing the news round ups!

I just posted a while ago in a thread on Hobbit that 33 new users signed up in the last 24 hours, and in the hour or so since that, it's gone up to 35 with a total of 238 new users in the last month! I think it's due to a combination of the premier, and Weta putting a link to TORn in their email newsletter that came out this a.m. Whatever it is, I think there's no looking back now. It's full steam ahead well into 2013, then the build up starts all over again for movie #2!

When I logged on after two days away I had to get to page four of Movie: Hobbit before I reached the end of the new threads. And it's only going to get busier!
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. Almost every time I log on there are new threads on Hobbit. It makes it so difficult to keep up and have a conversation, but it's really fun, too! I can't even imagine what the next month will hold. It's going to be insane!

are posted very, very quickly. And many things are posted again as "new" because they've already fallen off the first page! Woah.

Daniel, I'm glad you and Xanaseb are doing the news round ups! It's almost impossible for me to keep up with the news - there will be plenty of news stories missed off, but we hope to catch the main ones.

Kidding, of course! You're doing an amazing (and much appreciated) job - Notta
Happiness: money matters, but less than we think and not in the way that we think. Family is important and so are friends, while envy is toxic -- and so is excessive thinking. Beaches are optional. Trust is not. Neither is gratitude. - The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner as summarized by Lily Fairbairn. And a bit of the Hobbit reading thrown in never hurts. - NottaSackville
