Temple of Doom? Hope not [In reply to] Can't Post

Ugh, for my part at least, Temple of Doom had horribly cheap sets and visuals. But that's just me Cool

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

I would add some stars there too [In reply to] Can't Post

If not, thunder wouldn't be a bad idea. As long as the sky is blueishly dark.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

It was meant to look like a 1930's serial! [In reply to] Can't Post

As for Goblin Town, it looks fine, but familiar, particularly from DnD based computer games.

A Far Dragon is the best kind...

Temple of Doom [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Macfalk,

No, I was not hinting that the goblin caves would (or should!!!!) look like the mines of Temple of Doom. I was alluding to the collapsing of the rope bridge in that film, a fun action shot. The dwarves, in the scene where the Goblin King falls on the company, seem to be stuck in a wooden structure that looks alot like the multiple wood and rope bridges we see in Goblin Town. I would conclude from it that they are on the bridge - or aerial walkway - has it collapses (which could be a fun scene). We will soon find out!

I had always pictured [In reply to] Can't Post

the tunnels to and from goblin town as being very confined and claustophobic. Visually I prefer what John Howe has done, showing large natural voids, it is very majestic. He also makes the mountains look like they were created by some form of torture of the earth, which would fit in with the violence of Melkor in the marring or Arda.

That's the great thing about Alan's and John's concept art... [In reply to] Can't Post

...they always portray scenes and environments in a way that exceeds and defies expectations, but is still true to the spirit and atmosphere of the book.
