Middle-earth Conspiracy Theories Can't Post

So what was it about the Arkenstone that had Dwarves, Elves and Men so desperate to get their hands on it?

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauronís master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Arr-Ken-Stone [In reply to] Can't Post

The truth is, the name comes from "Arr-Ken-Stone" because it had the power to transform you into the plastic boyfriend of a Pirate Barbie. Why anyone would enjoy such a fate is beyond me. Quite obviously this was a side blow by Tolkien against the seductive powers of American pop culture.
