Is it just me ...? [In reply to] Can't Post

I never collected the LOTR figures, so I haven't got anything to compare these to. But these look really low quality. I know they're toys at the end of the day, but still ...

The price varied [In reply to] Can't Post

based on the size of the figure and the number of figures in the box. I think it ranged from hobbits being around 7.99 to larger figures being around 12-15 bucks. They were all highly detailed and pose-able, had tons of cool accessories, and some could even shoot their bow or swing a sword. Great fun. These new ones are a little underwhelming.

Ugh [In reply to] Can't Post

That bodice looks incredibly Ren Fair/ cliche fantasy. One of the least inspired costume designs, to say the least.

Height worry [In reply to] Can't Post

The reviewer says the Tauriel figure is "under-scaled", standing only a touch taller than Thorin, and certainly a good deal smaller than the previous ToyBiz Legolas figures.. .Let's hope that is simply an error, and not a further indication that the Kili-Tauriel "romance" rumours might be true! Perhaps [In reply to] Can't Post

The Avari elves of Mirkwood will be portrayed as much smaller than their rulers...?

I think is just an error because [In reply to] Can't Post

if you look to this image from Amazon, Tauriel has the same height as the new Legolas figure.

http://www.amazon.com/...enture/dp/B008648946

But I think there is more than one version of the toy because the one from amazon looks a bit different than the one from the first article that I've posted. At least the face looks different to me.

Action figure prices [In reply to] Can't Post

The basic 6 inch scale LOTR figures back in 2001-2005 were all approximately $8 (USD) at major retailers, and were full of detail, articulation and accessories. Today, the 6 inch figures are approximately $15, with less detail and articulation.

There were no LOTR figures in the 3.75 inch scale back then, as 6 inch scale was the norm, but others such as Star Wars I believe were around $6. Now, 3.75 inch is the preferred scale of most companies, and cost around $10.
