Who is this Orc??? Can't Post

Hi guys,

I'm sorry that I can't post a picture... There is an Orc that was shown in a lot of the promo pictures for LOTR's -but I don't remember seeing it in any of the films! Just wondering who it was and whether it was used and I just didn't notice??

The reason I ask is because I thought this particular Orc had the best design of them all...
*description*

Green skin, green eyes, no hair, a wooden piercing through it's ear and what looks like a black sword looking marking on its forhead running down its nose.

Anyone??

a useful place to look for an image of it [In reply to] Can't Post

You might try looking through gramma's unused scenes

It would help if you could find a photo of it (and gramma has a LOT of stuff that never made it to the movies).

That description wouldn't do me any good in determining one from another.

For some reason I cannot post the image.

If it helps, this particular orc is used as an example to show the different kinds... Moria Goblin, Mordor Orc, Isengard Uruk etc

"Mordor Orc"

I'm pretty sure you're referring to this fellow... [In reply to] Can't Post

He fits your description more than any other Orc I've come across (in the movies or in RL Sly)

I think Earl found him. [In reply to] Can't Post

I have the action figure of this guy, and I also remember him being all over promotional material.

I think there's a shot of him with a couple of other orcs walking through some trees. And I think he was supposed to be in the deleted scene where Gandalf sees orcs while talking to Saruman in FotR and says "orcs?! In Isengard?"

Maybe when they FINALLY release all of those deleted scenes, we'll know for sure.

How long has that image been floating around [In reply to] Can't Post

is it a design that was discarded for LOTR or is it a new design for some other movie, say The Hobbit? I like the tattoo.

This is closer to how I imagined the orcs [In reply to] Can't Post

than some of the orcs in the trilogy. I think it is a great design, and a real shame there weren't more.

I'm sure I've seen this Orc since the pre-ROTK days... [In reply to] Can't Post

... so it's definitely an LOTR Orc (not The Hobbit).

This is from a deleted scene where the Fellowship got chased by Orcs after Moria to Lorien. Before I knew this I always wondered why they ever used that one as it was one of the earliest promo images released from the film.

If you scroll up the screen Earl posted a link that has the Orc I am talking about! I wish they kept the scene you are talking about though -that sounded really good...

He was everywhere. [In reply to] Can't Post

He was all over movie tie-in books for FotR, and I have a 2002 calendar with a big close up of his face for October.
