Man of Steel trailer... Can't Post

I'm sure I'm not the only one that immediately recognized the music playing during the new Man of Steel trailer.

Here's the music that ACTUALLY played over the trailer... [In reply to] Can't Post

There are two versions [In reply to] Can't Post

One is narrated by Jor El (Superman's father) and (the best part of) "The Bridge of Khazad Dum" is played.

The other version is narrated by Mr. Kent and The Thins Red Line's music is used.

BTW the video you posted is from the Comic Con footage which is NOT either of the mentioned above (which are showng in front of "The Dark Knight Rises"), the footage you linked won't ever be released.

Gah, silly me... [In reply to] Can't Post

I forgot the trailer came out today and assumed OP was referring to Comic Con footage. I'm planing on seeing DKR on Thursday, so I'll look forward to some possible LotR music in the cinema Smile

You are certainly not... [In reply to] Can't Post

And my question is, how in the hell did they even get the rights to that song? And why? What possible purpose could they have for stealing that song for this trailer when they likely have original music being composed for the film? This is making me disrespect Zack Snyder all the more...

This happens all the time and it's not stealing [In reply to] Can't Post

They buy the rights to use the song.

You might enjoy browsing this site: http://www.soundtrack.net/trailers/

Here you'll see that music from Stargate was used in 22 trailers.

and music from Aliens was used in 24 trailers.

LOTR music hasn't been used in a lot of trailers but it was used in Dumb and Dumberer.

The music used for The Two Towers trailer that lots of people ask about is a remix of music from the movie Requiem For a Dream. And FOTR trailers used music from The Power of One, Braveheart, and City of Angels.

It's all completely legit.

I saw this trailer while watching TDKR, not a fan of the music use.. [In reply to] Can't Post

Took me a few seconds, and I thought, why are they using ''Gandalf’s Death'' music in this trailer?

I know its been done before in other films, but it seems a little odd to see such painstakingly crafted music made specifically for one film, suddenly just pasted over something other for what it was intended.

I would hope the beautiful work of Howard Shore and the team isnt devauled to the point we see it popping up as ''Mood Music'' on anything film studios see fitting.
