Peoples of Middle Earth Can't Post

Does anyone know a reliable website (preferably in the US or at least willing to ship to US) where I can purchase a paperback copy of the Peoples of Middle Earth? I couldn't find the paperback through Amazon or Barnes & Noble and the sites I've found are either overseas or just a little too shaky for my blood. If anyone has a recommendation, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure why the later volumes of HoME are so difficult to find in paperback, but I've really had problems.

As three great Jewels they were in form. But not until the End, when FŽanor shall return who perished ere the Sun was made, and sits now in the Halls of Awaiting and comes no more among his kin; not until the Sun passes and the Moon falls, shall it be known of what substance they were made. Like the crystal of diamonds it appeared, and yet was more strong than adamant, so that no violence could mar it or break it within the Kingdom of Arda.

Ebay is a good start [In reply to] Can't Post

There are plenty of them for sale on ebay:

But is there a particular edition you are looking for (one to fit in with the others, or just any of them?)

Thanks, Daniel [In reply to] Can't Post

I should've mentioned I checked ebay, as well. All the sellers are from the UK and I've not had good luck with books on ebay. I've always gotten my money back, but even when I search by ISBN, I still get a different edition or a damaged book it seems, so I'm not ready to starting dealing across the pond unless I absolutely have to. I'm looking for this edition:

I have the LoTR, TH, UT, Sil, HoME 1-5, 9-10 in this same edition. I'm obviously not looking for people to go on a mad dash internet search for me, just wondering if anyone else has had good experiences purchasing Tolkien books at a particular website.

ABE books? [In reply to] Can't Post

they can be a little more expensive but for paperback copies i don't think they will be.

Cheapest copy i could find of PoME was 8 pounds on ABEbooks, something like $13 in US.

Ah, sorry Finwe! [In reply to] Can't Post

It is the same edition I have, and I got my HoME series all from Amazon. I have never seen any of the books in a book shop (likely due to the limited demand).

Have you got a Kindle or other similar device? You could download it? That's as far as I can help though. I only buys books from a book shop, amazon and ebay; I've not used anywhere else Smile

Never seen them in a book shop :O [In reply to] Can't Post

what is happening to the world! the little bookshop had a hard and paperback copy of each edition in my home town. Maybe it has many Tolkien fans living there though, i could imagine it does!

Infact i can remember when i was much younger i went to get another Tolkien book from the bookshop after i had read LOTR and i came back with book of lost tales 2. I started reading and was like 'ok i dont know whats going on here but this isnt the tolkien i read in TH and LOTR' lol. Took me a good few years to read that one again!

I've got a Nook [In reply to] Can't Post

It's not a big deal, as I've read the hardcover several times at my local library. I'm just looking for a paperback copy to add to my admittedly modest collection. If push comes to shove, I can always get the hardcover. I like the cover art on the paperbacks. I'm not much of a book collector outside of Tolkien, but I always thought that hardcovers were the preferable format for collectors. I was surprised that the paperbacks are in such short demand and that the hardcover format of the HoME series are so bland in comparison.
