"Aragorn's" Recent Appearance on The Colbert Report Can't Post

Wherein Stephen Colbert asks for "a sign" as to whether or not he should run for president.

Watch the video at http://www.nofactzone.net/?p=2197

Hysterically funny and fairly short.

The backstory - remember, Colbert plays that he is a massive Aragorn fan. See

for more amusing evidence of this.

pretty funny [In reply to] Can't Post

If you're surprised at the lack of response here, it's probably because his appearance was already discussed in an earlier thread -- YodatheHobbit caught it the night it originally aired.

There he lay, a vast red-golden dragon, fast asleep; a thrumming came from his jaws and nostrils, and wisps of smoke, but his fires were low in slumber. Beneath him, under all his limbs and his huge coiled tail, and about him on all sides stretching away across the unseen floors, lay countless piles of precious things, gold wrought and unwrought, gems and jewels, and silver red-stained in the ruddy light.

Thanks for the backstory! [In reply to] Can't Post

I saw the first clip earlier, but I hadn't seen the one that sets it up, way back when A History of Violence was coming out!

...and the sails were drawn up, and the wind blew,
and slowly the ship slipped away down the long grey firth;
and the light of the glass of Galadriel that Frodo bore
glimmered and was lost.

Thanks - How Did I Miss That??? [In reply to] Can't Post

I also searched on "Colbert" on the boards and got one hit from a few years ago. Maybe search is being a little flakey?

Yeah, thanks. [In reply to] Can't Post

I hadn't seen that episode of The Daily Show, either. I knew Stephen Colbert was a big LOTR fan from an article in Rolling Stone. I think that's about when I started watching his show on a regular basis.
