It's a slow-moving horror.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. What a great map, I felt like I was going on a journey, to different parts of the country and the atmosphere seems to be more relaxed than previously video'd. I was just blown away by some of the actors sharing their thoughts and horsing around. It did look like Peter Armitage had a few hairy moments with the horse's mane. Great stuff. The interaction with Sir Peter and Andy Serkis proved that this directorial relationship would work. Not forgetting the road crew and the production team. Wow! what a workload you guys have. Thanks to Sir Peter for sharing these videos.

I love it! It's great to see the cast getting along so very well, which means the on-screen chemistry should be wonderful. Wow, this video really shows how massive the production really is. All of that scaffolding to preserve nature is inspiring. Bombur dancing! This guy is going to steal the show! I like Dori's ear clips. Strath Taieri, Pelorus River...even the place names in NZ are Tolkienesque! It's nice to see Ian McKellen on location. Glad he was able to experience it. The Hobbit theme already gives me chills, just as much as anything from LotR. I'm so glad they are bringing us along on this experience of a lifetime through these videos. I can't wait for all of it to come together in the theater!
Good Morning!

What happened to all the normal animals? Did they get eaten? Australia, the same goes for you.

If I'm remembering my 8th grade science class correctly (and assuming it was accurate) Australia and the islands surrounding it separated from the super-continent earlier than the others way back in time. Thus the flaura and fauna there adapted independently of the rest of the world's. Or was that a rhetorical question?

Ours developed to being slow, hippy-trippy critters. Not sure what that says about our respective countries...

. . . no shots of Balin.
"I am Gandalf, and Gandalf means me!" The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, "Thorin sat up with a start. 'Something is not right,' he muttered to himself as he stood up and looked towards the mirror . . . . . . . . . 'Durin's bones', he gasped, 'what's happened to my beard?'"

. . . or am I the only one who's a little worried about PJ? Twice during the VLOG I saw PJ way out of breath. I'm thinking the man needs a doctor visit and a good exercise regimen. Maybe it's just me . . .

I'm a walker, so 4-5 miles to me is nothing. Watching someone huff and puff after a few tenth's of a mile down a ramp makes me worry . . .

I would have thought that Bilbo will still be the one behind the actual escape - coming up with a plan, stealing the keys and findings all the Dwarves. It may just be the actualy escape into the river that has been changed

and talking. Yes, he could probably use a bit of cardio here and there, but so could I, and right now there's just not enough hours in the day. And I am not a Director/Writer/Producer of a major, very very, VERY highly anticipated, shot simultaniously, double feature movie with a budget of half a billion USD. I mean, when does this guy sleep? Or does he sleep at all?

Noted comments and images about a set at Stone Street. This is the Stone Street Studios as shown on Google Maps in Wellington. Google Earth (the program users download to a computer) has the date of the image as March 2, 2009. Curious to find out it's use. The shipping containers seen in Google Maps Street View are very likely this very set. On matters of cardio, factor in 1,000 meters elevation at the Turoa Ski Field over Wellington. I would be sucking wind a bit myself and I would not be alone. Blessings of safety and good health to Mr Jackson and all those involved. A lot of hard work by a lot of folks on so many different levels. Tough for me to fully appreciate.
