This is an Oil on canvas of Bag End at night in the evening mist. Starting a series of "The Hobbit" paintings. Hope you like it.

Very nice! [In reply to] Can't Post

I love the texture and the contrast between the shadows and the lighting. Excellent job. It seems cozy and yet slightly eerie at the same time.

Very nice. I agree with what Patty said. Great job!// [In reply to] Can't Post

Some who have read the book, or at any rate have reviewed it, have found it boring, absurd, or contemptible; and I have no cause to complain, since I have similar opinions of their works, or of the kinds of writing they evidently prefer.

Who is that odd little fellow? - Saruman

"Oh, you're a villain all right, just not a SUPER one!" "Yeah? What's the difference?" "Presentation!"

It's beautiful! [In reply to] Can't Post

I love the ambient texturing... the highlights and the shadows make the place look both comforting and perilous (if you get my meaning!)

The whole thing is a completely different take on something so familiar, and yet it feels so right. I love it Cool
