Warner Bros to develop UK film base, Good news for Chris Lee? Can't Post

Just came across this on the BBC news site:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11710803

I suppose this would make it more convenient for Christopher Lee and dare I say it for a tiny weeny bit of a cameo for Ian Holm? Interesting to see where WB will take this in relation to their decision to keep Hobbit in New Zealand. Wonder how likely PJ is to use the facilities at this site?

It will be good for the British film industry, [In reply to] Can't Post

that's for sure. and if successful, more studios will come.

I worry that the script has been written as if lee will not be in the film. But they could easily do a star wars I guess, put his head on a younger man's body

Ya know, I bet PJ talked WB into spending the $100 million on this studio [In reply to] Can't Post

just so they could film the two cameos of Christopher Lee & Ian Holm for the Hobbit. Makes good sense to me.Tongue

The insider on Reddit [In reply to] Can't Post

has told us that Saruman is definitely in the script, and he seems quite authentic.

He said [In reply to] Can't Post

that he was unsure if they'd be recasting him or reworking the script, since Christopher Lee would not be returning as he did not want to fly all the way to New Zealand. (Though I think that may change considering the Leavesden purchase.)

If they caste Christopher Lee as Saruman [In reply to] Can't Post

They had better film all of his scenes first. He is 88 years old.

whole lot of factors that determine life expectancy [In reply to] Can't Post

So for different cultures/places there is a different "woah that's nearly dead" age. Lee is older than the average life expectancy any where, but it's an average, not a prediction.

On a sobering note in Swaziland if you make it to 40 you're doing really really well.

I don't think [In reply to] Can't Post

the fact that warners brought a sound stage would make any real difference. If they wanted to shoot in england to accomdate Lee, they could shoot in any of their numerous stages.
