Legolas vs. Mr. Spock Can't Post

*announcer voice*
On the left we have Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood, an elf of high esteem!
And on the right we have Mr. Spock, Science officer of the USS Enterprise, a green-blooded Vulcan!

Which of these pointy-eared combatants will win!?

Geez... [In reply to] Can't Post

this is a tough one.....I'm going to choose Spock over pretty-boy-movie-Legolas......and a draw if its Spock vs. book-Legolas....
I like Spock ok? I'm sorry. Dude rocked hard next Kirk. And he had a whole movie dedicated to him! Now I know Jerry says that Wrath of Khan was the better.....sorry, mixing Seinfeld with Trek, with LOTR...and...I've been at work to long....going home soon damn it.

What's the matter, James? No glib remark? No pithy comeback?"

"Wrath of Khan" is the movie my hubby says is best as well, but... [In reply to] Can't Post

I am a Next Generation fan myself. Yes, I know Kirk fans will get me for preferring Capt. Picard, but I just like that bald head I guess.

Anyways, I agree that Spock would be the victor in this battle. I think his intelligence and experience would win out in the end.

Legolas for sure. He can draw a bow faster than any stupid Vulcan could! He wouldn't know what hit him before Leggy had an arrow in his chest! LOL. Smile

Old Spock or New Spock? [In reply to] Can't Post

(Newer Spock?)

Hmmm, my gut tells me Legolas. Better hair cut, ears not so pointy. And, last time I checked, Spock is not immortal.

"Put that Vulcan Death Grip on me!" [In reply to] Can't Post

Mr. Spock has a tricorder, phaser and rationality on his side. Plus, he's got the Vulcan death grip if things get hairy.

Legolas has a bow and arrows. Plus, he's pretty.

Result: Spock lives!

Cool
I always thought it was ironic that Spock is such a serious, emotionless character, and Leonard Nimoy has one of the most attractive smiles I've ever seen.

(And LeVar Burton has beautiful eyes. Go figure...)

Legolas [In reply to] Can't Post

Spock: Live long and prosper.

Legolas: Been there, done that. *thwap!*

The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.

In hand-to-hand combat, it might be a draw. [In reply to] Can't Post

That is, unless Spock can sneak in that Vulcan Nerve Pinch of his. And considering Legolas wouldn't know to try and block that, Spock would probably win.

I can only think of Spock as he was during the [In reply to] Can't Post

"Koon-ut-kal-if-fee" fight with Kirk. Put Legolas and Spock in a neutral location.....both have staves...my guess is Legolas, far older, far more experienced.

Or, Legolas with a bow and Spock with a phaser in a forest.....edge Legolas for ability to be unseen.

Wrestling match....edge Spock due to Vulcan strength and his death grip...if it works on elves.

Knife fight...Legolas.

and anyway, Leggy is an elf, and may have powers (like Luthien-even though she was half Maia) and can grow his hair at will and can tie Spock up in it. Hey, it's 3 in the morning, so that makes perfect sense to me.

pointy eared contest.... [In reply to] Can't Post

...ironically, my top two favorite fictional characters...

Note that there is nothing "pretty boy" about Legolas in the book (Tolkien once obhected heartily to a "too pretty" portrayal of him somewhere and responded with a civilized rant that included bits such as "can draw a mighty warbow"... (think 100 pound plus draw)...etc... then there was that slightly eerie scene of him on the top of the wall at Helm's Deep...where he'd run out of arrows and his orc count was quite high... he'd been silently knifing them as they climbed over the wall.

Intuition beats logic... not to mention a few hundred years more experience fighting...

But really folks...they'd just find some logical common ground and leave the human instigators of the "contest" in the dust, as they went off for a lengthy discussion on esoteric topics.

Had a duck named Spock once... have a Siberian husky named Legolas... that contest would last about five seconds (yummy ducky snack!).

Go outside and play...
