Hi, Hary! [In reply to] Can't Post

Welcome to torn. We have been discussing the upcoming movies for quite some time now, and most of us agree that GDT and PJ will probably stay true to the storyline; therefore most of the characters from our favorite film trilogy probably won't be in the Hobbit movies. Bilbo, Gandalf, and Gollum will most certainly be in them; the latter two played by the same actors from the trilogy. Some of us hope to see a few others worked skillfully into the story. Will we see Elrond, Galadriel, a younger Aragorn and Arwen? Might Haldir show up somewhere? I guess we'll have to wait and see! Speculation and anticipation are fun, aren't they?

Well said, Kareniel. And welcome, Hary! [In reply to] Can't Post

Stick around and enjoy the hype, Hary.

If you can, take advantage of the long time we have left before the movie to read the book. Most folks think it's easier reading than LotR, if you're one who enjoyed the Rings movies but couldn't get through the long books. We don't know how much time we have till the movies (either 2011 or 2012 for part one, depending on the latest rumor!) . Glad you came on board!

Howdy hary! [In reply to] Can't Post

Welcome to TORn :D That seems to be something that has spurred a LOT of conversation here. We know those who are in both LotR and The Hobbit are most probably going to be there... and hopefully played by the original actors.

I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.
