I am not fond of waytooold!Bilbo (that amount of makeup scares me, for some unknown reason), but I do think you captured him quite well. Frodo's face looks slightly too wide, but otherwise, proportion-wize, it looks excellent. The shading is superb, especially the skin, and overall, it is just magnificent. Thank you very much for posting!

your comments are appreciated. I realize my flaws in this image, especially Frodo. I got better as I progressed. This is image number 8 in a series that is up to 25 images. 2 or 3 of the early ones I won't post at all. I feel like I am sculpting as much as drawing. my forté is in te values and in the details: especially the texture, This image is the only one in which I framed the eoriginal because I love this moment so much.

Why didn't weI know you were such a talented artist until now? This is a beautiful picture. You captured such wonderful expressions on each of their faces. *goes to check out your other posts*

I have jusy been reading through a book on the history of etchings and engravings and this drawing resembles those fabulously detailed works. You are very skilled with shading and drawing textures and detail. frodo's cloak and bilbo's haie are exceptionally beautiful. I wonder if maybe you resized the pic in correct proportion as the image seems a little skewed horizontally. My only quibble with the image is the heavy shading on bilbo's eyes and mouth and the sharp delineation betwen the smooth head and wrinkle brow. I know this is a defect of the make-up that your drawing only highlights. But you have captured beautifully the moment of gentle peace between these two. Well done, DoN.
