There's some reluctance about new threads [In reply to] Can't Post

...pertaining to a topic already under discussion because the active page can only show a certain number of threads, and new ones push the older ones off the active page. This is true on all forums on this board, and is generally a characteristic of thread-oriented message boards. This is a practical way of ensuring that everyone who is interested in a topic can follow its discussion in one place.

As NEB notes, chapter discussions in RR almost always end with an invitation to an open discussion. A few years ago, we had a poster (Atlas, I think), who would come in on the open discussion thread of a chapter with a "briefcase" of questions (sometimes a dozen or more) on issues not addressed yet. Some were lighthearted, some provocative, most were interesting.

But new threads on new topics are always welcome on any board.

Well, actually, [In reply to] Can't Post

I've been wondering why no one had started one yet! If no one else does, I probably will! Looks to be an interesting season!
