This is The Young Bilbo Baggins? Can't Post

The latest is that Ian Holm is too old 'unfortunately' to reprise the role so I hear it will be this actor.

That's a pretty old article. [In reply to] Can't Post

And nothing in it has been confirmed. If you're interested, you can find our in-depth discussion of it here.

We're unlikely to get any confirmed casting news (aside from the returning characters we already know about) until the scripts are done. Until then, or until GDT tells us something, everyone's just guessing. Especially the media, who love to speculate because that enables them to write articles and sell copies even while they don't know anything. Tongue

"Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them.
Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you."

Ack! My eyes! [In reply to] Can't Post

That picture is just ghastly. My retinas might never recover.

Those left standing will make millions writing books on the way it should have been. --Incubus
