and I'm pretty sure Kimi is high and dry too.
Taranaki's been in the lee of most of it, although we're getting a drenching today. I like a good thunderstorm as well as the next person but after a month of 'dramatic' weather, I'm more than ready for a fine spell.
The South Island is getting it in the neck right now.

Though I'm sorry to say there's more coming  We've been lashed by gale force winds for the last two days and it finally left south west WA last night, so will probably hit you guys early next week, and will probably be even nastier.
We're so over winter here too, really looking forward to some warm. Can't remember the last winter we've had that was so cold!! Well at least we haven't had any tornadoes this year, so far .
Keep safe and warm. Would you like a few more of your Chocolate/Bailey drinks sent your way?

And that's a phrase I never thought I'd write - it got windy, but nothing out of the ordinary for here, and it's just rained a lot. But we didn't get the storm proper, though it hit Levin to the north and then went on to attack Picton, to the south. Madness.

and I sincerely hope it stays that way too *hugs* the winds we've been getting are frightening. Missed a bit of sleep as a result, youngest son REALLY doesn't like the storms :( and he kicks like crazy when he sleeps in our bed.
Well the kitty's gotta be one of ya, care to nominate anyone? LOL
I actually had a cat that looked just like it when I was a kid, only difference was Snoopy was way too stupid to play with pc's or maybe it was just that we didn't have pc's when I was a kid

I did see a news story where a firefighter in Levin said at least the storm that sank the Wahine was quick, whereas this latest one was 'a pig of a storm'. I thought that was the best description so far.
