Sauron's form as Annatar Lord of Gifts was an elve, so that matches up as well as he is obviously an important commander.

One bright point for the series is that the pronunciation of "Sauron" keeps getting more and more sinister and impressive. There's real venom in her voice here, outdoing even Waldreg. By the way, I think Waldreg will either die soon or eventually become a ringwraith, maybe even the first one.
