I have mostly watched all kinds of Jane Austen Films new and old :) between the fevers and the headaches ... I really really really liked the Mansfield Park from 1983. I really liked the Sense and Sensibility from 2008. I did not as much like the Emma from 2009 (still the 2020 version is my favorite, took over from the version from 1996 with Kate Beckinsale). I did NOT like "Becoming Jane" but found things to enjoy in "Miss (Jane) Austen regrets" (even if the costuming in the latter was SO off). I still love the Persuasion from 1995. (bedridden for like a week ...)

I'm glad you're doing better, but worried that you're still struggling to fight off the illness. My niece (hospital nutritionist) is still trying to get back her strength after a year and a half. I pray you won't have any lingering health issues as you gain back your health and strength. You're strength you've already shown is inspiring and I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to be with us :) *more hugs* Have you watched Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley & Donald Sutherland? It's one of my favourites :)

...and was looking for people to watch with, so I've been doing group watches lately with her and a few of our mutual friends. Left to my own devices, I don't watch much TV that isn't live sports (especially American football), so the past two weeks have included more TV watching than I've done in some time. We started with The Flight Attendant, a black comedy murder mystery about an alcoholic flight attendant who wakes up in bed next to a corpse. The main character is an absolute disaster of a person, which is sometimes frustrating but mostly entertaining, especially when there are other people to share in the exasperation at her constant mistakes. XD A subset of the group, consisting of the people with less active social lives who are more easily able to set aside time for this, just started watching the new adaptation of The Time Traveler's Wife. I became aware of the book years ago, when I worked in a bookstore, and was always intrigued by the premise but never got around to reading it. The first episode of the miniseries felt aggressively weird in places, and the premise is kinda skeevy even to a fan of age difference romance tropes like myself, but the second episode had a surprisingly emotional final scene which sold me on the show. So I look forward to watching more of both. :)
