Free Range Games and North Beach Games announced their latest game, The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria is on the way. Unlike other games based on the storied franchise, this one heads in a very different direction as you return to the former home of the dwarves that was once occupied by Smaug and attempt to rebuild it from scratch. But these caves aren't unoccupied as you'll have new dangers to deal with in trying to reclaim your home. However, you'll have the tools to not just rebuild and fortify, but arm and defend it from all who dare intrude. The game is set to be released sometime in Spring 2023. Until then, enjoy the info and trailer below.

The story of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria takes players beyond the books and into the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, the fantastical world created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarven homeland of Moria—known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf—in the depths below their very feet. Their quest will require fortitude, delving deep into the Mines of Moria to recover its treasures. Players will join forces to survive, craft, build and explore the iconic, sprawling mines. Courageous expeditioners will need to be vigilant as mysterious dangers await.

Trailer:
Yes, I know. Smaug never occupied Moria. I'm blaming that one on the reporter for Bleeding Cool.
