Howard Shore on the In Concert Hall of Fame Can't Post

From CBC Radio:

On Episode 31 of the In Concert Hall of Fame, perhaps the only Canadian composer who’s written a melody that everybody knows, not including O Canada.
Howard Shore is first and foremost the composer for the Lord of the Rings films. If you’ve seen those movies, you already have one of Shore’s themes playing in your head, conjuring images of hobbit holes in rolling green hillsides, elegant elven dwellings in the treetops, and dark, haunted dwarven mines. Shore's also written the music for almost every movie by the Canadian body horror pioneer David Cronenberg. He’s worked with Martin Scorsese. And, he’s written music for the concert stage and the opera house.

Wonderful :D [In reply to] Can't Post

...you already have one of Shore’s themes playing in your head...

So True!!! It's wonderful to see him and his work honoured. If you stop to think of his influence on music for the past 50 years, you'll realize how much we've enjoyed his work most of our lives! Some of his most enjoyed by me was his work as the original music director for Saturday Night Live since 1975 where he also performed in many of their sketches. So that iconic opening music for SNL is all about Howard Shore :D
