I haven't come down from the high yet. [In reply to] Can't Post

I was so proud of my kids. They jumped right in and helped with everything. A wedding at home is a challenge and it turned out beautifully.

Gorgeous! [In reply to] Can't Post

The tree's coloring really does resemble flames!

You were busy this summer? Wink But maybe it will be best to wait 'til next year, when you'll have a "new" shoulder - and, wait, didn't you have knee surgery also?

not yet [In reply to] Can't Post

I was going to have the knee surgery first but I got a cortisone shot that really helped, and then the shoulder went very wonky very fast, so that's happening next. Shoulder surgery this fall, a year to recover, then I'll have the knee done. By 2024 I should be hiking again!

So busy... in a good way :) [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm getting so many things ticked off my "Summer gotta do" list. It's been great... plus I made a trip to northern Michigan and my Charlevoix/Lake Michigan escape. I always feel so refreshed when I can make it to the big water, collect pebbles and rocks, and enjoy the changing colours of the trees. Most of northern MI is covered with trees and it's got some serious hills (small mountains, imho), so the view is spectacular! The weather was perfect on the only unrainy day all week.

I smiled when I saw you were putting a carpet down where you hang out the most and enjoy your dinner in front of the TV. *hand shoots up* It's my favourite time of the day when I can look forward to what I'll have for dinner and what will I watch while I'm enjoying it! It was especially fun when I was visiting Mom and we planned just like that every day.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoying an equally great week! *waves fondly* Thanks for taking such great care of us, Altaira!

Colours are on the way! [In reply to] Can't Post

It's too bad they don't last longer than a couple of weeks, but oh what a show! Even the wildflower growing along the road are so beautiful this time of year.
I hope you had a great weekend and that your week is going great, too! :)

What a great escape [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm so glad your time away was so beautiful. You really should get to the Mt before the weather moves in. I'm so happy for you that all the arrangements and hoops to jump through for the house are just about done. Today (Tuesday) should do it for the biggest part. Congratulations :D

Thank you! [In reply to] Can't Post

I got a hike and then some - the "hike" was really a Cirith Ungol like climb up some very steep stairs that went all the way to the top of the hill. Three days later, my calves are *still* feeling like lead! Though that probably says more about my muscle strength now rather than the difficulty of the stairs. Angelic Still very fun with some great views at the top, but oof! I'll be doing a normal trail next time I hike.

And glad to hear you made it to your happy place up north! Do you have a system for categorizing rocks/pebbles/etc that you've collected? Or do they just all go into the same receptacle together?

My sumach is turning now [In reply to] Can't Post

and I see that every time I look out of the kitchen window. It's lovely and bright on a grey day! Older grandson has been picked for the school's under-14 running team; he's 11 and one of the youngest in his year, so he's very pleased. He's long and springy, built for speed - unlike his Grandma!

It was very pretty! [In reply to] Can't Post

The yellows and oranges are abundant in the Berkshires, but there's plenty of reds as well, this time of year is a "feast for the eyes"!.Laugh

LOL, being besieged by youngsters each day isn't exactly "peaceful", but the joy of being able to help them out gives one a sense of peacefulness!

Actually... [In reply to] Can't Post

I have them all sorted by size... from teeny-tiny to fitting the the palm of my hand. I make things with them. Bird houses, gnome homes, hobbit homes, lighthouses, etc. This last trip, I scooped up a full plastic grocery bag in this last trip ;)

And on a perfect Fall day, as well! I just read that you collected a whole bagful of pebbles this time. Planning to do more with your Hobbit-hole on the side of the garage? Speaking of garages...when will the new roof be going on?
