beautiful! [In reply to] Can't Post

Is it just The Two Towers? The cover seems to indicate . . . and the thickness.

So nice! // [In reply to] Can't Post

Happiness: money matters, but less than we think and not in the way that we think. Family is important and so are friends, while envy is toxic -- and so is excessive thinking. Beaches are optional. Trust is not. Neither is gratitude. - The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner as summarized by Lily Fairbairn. And a bit of the Hobbit reading thrown in never hurts. - NottaSackville

That edition was my introduction to Tolkien! [In reply to] Can't Post

I still keep it for sentimental reasons, though it's disintegrating now, being much-handled and in a much worse state than your copy. It's the trilogy - the paper is very thin.

Single-volume Editions [In reply to] Can't Post

I once owned a higher-end, single-volume edition of The Lord of the Rings. I never liked the very thin paper used for it.

Oh Sweet!!! :D [In reply to] Can't Post

That is a special treasure that was just waiting for someone (points at you) to come along who would realize how AWESOME it is! CONGRATS!!!!

There's something unique about that volume, apparently. I found mine during my first trip to NZ in an old book store :D When I saw your pictures, I got that geeky happy-spasm all over again!!!! :D *high five*
